It’s been a little while since we last heard from Automaton Games’s ambitious open-world battle-royale shooter Mavericks at E3 2018, but it would appear that the devs have been hard at work, and after a quiet holiday break, they’ve returned to give players an update on what to expect as development resumes in 2019. For starters, January will mark the game’s final month in technical testing as the devs roll out the “first Core Update offering players a rel taste of the Mavericks experience.”

Then, in February, players can look forward to the launch of the Hunter & Hunted Core Update, “which will bring a host of new features including tracking, items, gunplay, and more.” Beyond that, information on the coming updates is scarce, but the devs promise that more details will be forthcoming in a blog post next week. And to top it all off, players who signed up during the game’s E3 announcement will be welcomed to the fold in the near future, “adding a potential 100,000 new players to The Forge.” For all the details on what’s going to be happening with Mavericks over the next couple of months, you can read the full update post on the game’s official site.
