Closers brings its Rogue Agents update with a new season and level cap

Roguish.

In the Closers update dropping tonight it appears that the nights are for hunters. Hunter’s Night is the name of the first part of the new season, for example, and it’s also the new town hub that players will unlock. This means new mission dungeons, new endgame dungeons, and of course new gear and improvements to existing equipment. Players will also be able to unlock new costumes along the way, so long as they meet the minimum level of 80 to start accessing the new content.

The level cap is also being raised to 85 for all characters with this patch, so everyone’s going to be spending some time gaining those levels; there’s also a competition to see who can reach that level cap first, as you would no doubt expect. Combine that with new offerings in the game’s EMP store and there’s plenty to chew on in the update; the only downside is that you’ll need to wait a little while longer, as maintenance is set to start at midnight EST.

I watched a video of this game yesterday. The video makes it look like a side scroll beat’em’up with 2.5d models. I may have a look at it

That’s exactly what it is and plays really smooth. I get torn between this and SoulWorker on which to play more.

I havent tried Soulworker to be honest, but out of curiocity tried why DFO(Dungeon Fighter Online) was so popular and I actually like it a lot. Also DFO plays very smooth

A reasonably accurate description.

Pros:
Nice enough character artwork (presets only, you play a person, not your custom creation)
Good combat (insofar as beat’em’ups are concerned)
Solo friendly

Cons:
Anti-cheat software loves false positives and like most software of its kind bogs down your system measurably (I can’t play anymore because Steam or Discord are being flagged as cheat software on my rig)
High real money cost for the in-game store (check out their EMP store, do the math, and look at your prices, then multiply that value since most of that EMP is for the next item down on the list)
Gambleboxes are one of only two sources of meaningful costumes (the other being other players who whaled their way to those costumes)

As much as I generally enjoyed the gameplay and aesthetic, I can’t abide the cons well enough to justify continuing to play any further. To each their own though!

Yes seems all the games of this kind got anti-cheat false alert problems. DFO too was getting Discord as an alert at some point but seems ok now

Chosenxeno .

Try DFO if you want that. DFO has 60 classes and they all manage to feel unique. Both are going to cost you though. Actually, DFO has a Event going that gets you full level 85 Epics in one day. They have a full update coming on February 26. This will help you prepare.

I am trying DFO and loving it, I wonder if Closers is better or not

DFO seems faster imo. I didn’t play Closers that long. Maybe a half an hour. You’re probably better asking someone that’s played Closers and DFO more in depth. I will say this. DFO is a lot more Massive as far as popularity on a Global Level and I trust the future of DFO more than Closers…
