Apex Legends news: Twitch Prime goodies, esports things, and a new gun

As often seems to be the case with games like these, news from the realm of Apex Legends comes in a bundle form. For those folks who are into that whole battle royale thing, there’s new freebies for Twitch Prime subscribers, a word on the shooter’s most recent esports event, and a tease of a new weapon.

On the digital competition side of things, Apex Legends’ second Twitch Rivals event saw teams from the NA and EU duke it out in four rounds of competition. If you happen to have missed out on the event and have nine-and-a-half hours to burn, you can take in the VOD.

If you’re one of those who has an active Twitch Prime membership and play Apex Legends, you’ve got some free in-game goodies to claim: specifically an Omega Point Pathfinder skin and five Apex Packs. Bear in mind, however, that the free stuff will go to only the one game account you have linked to your Twitch Prime membership.

Finally, a new weapon known as Havoc is due to arrive at some point later today. Players can expect an announcement of the gun’s arrival soon, as well as look forward to more word about it with the game’s designers.

Don’t forget that our very own MJ will also be streaming the shooter at 8:00 p.m. EST tonight on our own Twitch channel.
