Gamigo is apparently going to throw a party in Cologne

“Are you planning a vacation in Europe any time soon? If not, you definitely should,” exclaims Rift’s official Twitter account as it’s being used as a platform to announce a Gamigo Party happening in Cologne, Germany, during Gamescom. In fact, every Trion owned MMO is posting similar messages.

It’s not entirely clear just what is in a Gamigo Party, but what we do know is that it’s happening on Thursday, August 22nd, somewhere near the upcoming Gamescom conference. You also have to be 16 years of age or older to attend, evidently, according to the event’s website.

That’s about all we’ve got to report on this one. Good to see that Trion’s game Twitter accounts are being put to good use.

Where do they find these money from????…

They acquired Aeria and then Trion and yet all their previous games were mediocre ones that nobody cared about… I’m baffled (and scared) by this company.

They mostly got games with low maintainance costs so expenses are generally not too high either. If you dont got a lot of such costs and you still got many games the profits collectively add up over time.

Also if I remember well they used to be a gaming magazine initially. i dont think they got an self-developed game either.

They had this game: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G6z6TOy73L4 which is now gone, then they had Loong, but I’ve never been interested in their games, they are bad now and they were bad back in the day.

I get that their games are low maintenance ones, but I just don’t get who would play their games, they are like the worst of the worst.

I want to believe that this is their big “coming out” party, where they’ll be making all kinds of announcements about improved support (with actual details) for the Trion MMO’s that they’re not killing off (sorry those that don’t make the cut) and make a play to be taken seriously as a MMO publisher.

But I don’t. If they at least throw a pretty fun party that folks enjoy, I’ll consider that a success enough.

The optimist in me hopes that this is a sign of a policy shift at the company towards putting effort into expanding the development on the games it has acquired from Trion .

Pesky little bstard that optimist he always lets me down .

Probably a “going away” party.

you wish lol…
they got a bunch of MMOs really cheap. And if you would know what is german efficiency, you would throw a party too. (hint: they can run everything on peanuts, while charging whatever they want.)
Rift is still a AAA MMO and they got it for a few 100k probably if not less.

I don’t know that they have the meeting facilities to really support that many people but I’m sure the Chamber of Commerce could get the use of the charter school gymnasium or cafeteria.
