The Stream Team: Eyes on the holocron prize of SWTOR’s evil jumping puzzle

Thanks to whatever bugs and bad luck plagued them, Massively OP’s Larry and MJ got through SWTOR’s jumping puzzle only to be denied the holocron prize! Did MJ not say jumping puzzles were evil?! The answer is yes, yes she did. But the duo aren’t going to let the game beat them without a fight: They will be trying the run once more. Come and cheer them on (and cross all your fingers and toes!) live at 2:00 p.m. and see if they succeed.

I’ve not played SWTOR since 2013, but still have vivid painful memories of my guild at the time trying to get everbody in the squad to one particularly tricky holocron.

Confused with the timings! was that delay or I have time? I was actually watching some live movie launch event on which made this delay.

I think I have mentally written off jumping puzzles.

As long as the developers assume that all my avatars have no arms and can’t pull themselves over a one foot embankment.

Either make jumping puzzles like Tomb Raider circa 1996. I mean come on that’s been over twenty years!

Jump, Jump, Revolution!

Am I late? Am I early? Stupid fonging time zones!

Whenever I see the age-old “do you like jumping puzzles in MMO’s” question, my mind splits in two.

Half goes to Wildstar, which had fun, bouncy jumps!

The other half goes to the darkness and frustration that is SWTOR’s agonizing datacron slog.

Warframe jumping FTW. And, the Warframe jumping puzzles are so integrated into the game play that one hardly even notices that there is a jumping puzzle.

Not that they are anywhere near the stupid complexity of GW2 and some of the SWTOR jumpers. But they are fun, fast and rewarding. :)

And mine goes to the first game i had to do jumping puzzles, PWI

IronSalamander8 .

Jumping puzzles are indeed evil and they’re even worse in SWTOR where the buggy engine makes them a nightmare at times.
