Warhammer Online blogger and MMO podcaster Steve ‘Slurms’ Lichtsinn loses battle with cancer

Out of the boisterous class of Warhammer Online bloggers that emerged on the scene in 2008, Steve “Slurms” Lichtsinn became well-known for his affable wit, trademark manic grin, and love of MMOs. Sadly, Steve passed away yesterday following a two-year battle with cancer.

Following a stretch of WAR blogging, Steve turned to MMO podcasting as his creative outlet. He was a cohost on both Multiplaying and The MMO Show for several years. Steve leaves behind a wife, daughter, and son, and our love and condolences are with his family and friends this week.

One of his friends, Zelibeli, put together a “Best of Slurms” playlist on YouTube for friends and newcomers to appreciate the work he did. Check it out below and give a “waaagh!” for him today.

Absolutely gutted to hear this news, I was a longtime listener of the mmo and then gocart brothers podcasts, I did occasionally check his twitter for news on how he was doing and had my fingers crossed he could beat it.

My heart goes out to all his family, Shannon, Jason and brent.

RIP ‘Slurms’ you will be missed xxxx

Gone too soon from the world, but he brought a lot of people a lot of happiness.

Sometimes you can take one look at someone and say without doubt they are a good person, and looks like we lost a great one!
