Camelot Unchained moves Characters 2.0 to its master build and works on lighting people on fire

Camelot Unchained has apparently gotten better at setting you on fire. That is to say, City State Entertainment worked out a particle system that reduces CPU load for better frame rates while still looking good/painful. This is just one of a number of updates out of the MMO’s weekly wrap-up, which also offered word on Characters 2.0 progress and ability system improvements among other things.

The Characters 2.0 update has seen a pretty significant step forward as assets have now been moved over to the game’s master, with only a few reported adjustments needed to LODs, animation, and other particulars. In short, there should be better performing and prettier avatars charging about soon.

On the ability system side of things, the devs were busy linking abilities to FX, improving the game’s progression system, and adjusting relevant stats. Initial internal and IT/Alpha backer testing in the Castle Siege scenario reportedly went well, so these changes may move to the master build soon as well.

Speaking of testing, a number of physics server crashes forced Camelot Unchained to call off usual testing this past weekend. Backers should keep their eyes peeled on the testing schedule, however, as more tests are likely to arrive during the week.

As ever, more details can be read on the website or gleaned from the Q&A livestream embedded below.
