Elsweyr hype: The Elder Scrolls Online drops a Necromancer trailer

23

The Elder Scrolls Online is just a month and a few days away from the formal launch of Elsweyr on June 4th, which means it’s time to crank up the ol’ hype machine. And that’s exactly what ZeniMax is doing this morning: It’s posted a trailer for the Night King. I mean, the Necromancer class.

“The souls and corpses of the fallen are yours to command with the Necromancer, an all-new class coming with The Elder Scrolls Online: Elsweyr. Raise relentless undead, encase yourself in impenetrable bone, and weave severed flesh back together with the power of Tamriel’s dark arts. With the Necromancer, death itself is a weapon, and you are its master.”

In a happy coincidence, our Tamriel Infinium column last week deep-dived the Necromancer; Larry admits to positively spoiling all of the class mechanics, so stay away if you’re hoping to go in fresh, but if you want to know all the details of how the class plays, that column’s for you. Enjoy the trailer!

Bit annoyed there is not Pet line to the Necro in the traditional sense… but then I was also annoyed they gave and still haven’t given us the option to have more than just bears for the Wardens pets… lol

Glad to see the spell animations are still as alpha as ever.

Seriously for as beautiful the game world is, the spell effects and combat animations are flat out atrocious.

Awesome, more lag in Cyrodil. Or did they decide to finally make up for their promise by increasing the PC EU serverpark?

Guess not…

Really, you could have the best MMO on the market, if your servers are trash, preventing people from enjoying what they pay for, you deserve all the sh*t you get.

In all honesty I have only ever experienced a single place that lags on the EU servers since beta and that was Cyrodil..

But i suspect performance is as much Pc related as it is server related for a lot of people.

Played the game as a pvper ever since the first closed beta pvp test on and off to now, and the performance is at an all time 6 year (including 1 year pre-launch) low. There were periods when there were different forms of lag, but overall it has never been so common, performance hindering, and game breaking.

This is coupled with the fact that the pvp population is the lowest it’s ever been, for NA PC idk bout EU, so it just goes to show you that all good things are in the rear-view mirror for ESO pvp and it’s just downhill from here.

I’m on several times a week and I can’t remember the last time I experienced any lag

Sorry, but you need to either be honest or tell the whole story, because people deserve to know. 1. Are you on PC EU? If so, do you take part in group content? Do you engage in Cyrodil PvP?

Because once you reach CP160+, that is basically all there’s left, queuing up for dailies -which fails as load screens can lead to crashes, that is if you actually manage to get a loadscreen, becuase 9 out 10 times you won’t even get into a group to begin with- or taking part in Cyrodill PvP -which is impossible due to skills simply not triggering or triggering way too late-.
There’s also the ‘raid’ content of course, but same problem there; loadscreens will lock you out.

The ‘Undaunted’ festival? Dead in the water. Group finder wasn’t functioning. The PvP event? Sorry, group finder malfunctioning, cyrodill forever lagging.

They are making plenty of money, investing into better server infrastructure should have happened months ago. All they did was acknowledge they experienced issues due to the ‘massive influx of new people’.
The problems existed before that ‘influx’ and they exist not because of the new people, but because your servers are sh*t and you failed to act upon it.
so thank you for the marketing spin, now where’s the action taken? What has been done to ‘fix’ things?

Right…

This trailer felt…lacking. Not that it’s bad, it’s just not the hyping i was expecting.

showed necromancer

Not sure what you would expect. Necromancer and Dragons in Catsville is pretty much scraping the bottom of the barrel for ESO lore/content.

A better narration than “I am a necromancer.”

Holy hell, you don’t say you are a necromancer.

What!? you didn’t like a trailer full of Wacky Waving Inflatable Arm-Flailing Tubemen?

I know, i know. Preposterous.

They already have very cool cinematic for Elsweyr, this one is merely a reminder that Elsweyr also includes new class.

Should be fun. :)

Poor Steve Blum. I wonder if he even has a voice left after this game :(

Kinda smart seeing as there was a massive wave of undead that attacked in GoT last night that would help raise the hype for this class by a million!

Better hope they have books in the afterlife, GRRM will out live us all being sustained by our salty rage filled tears while he purposely doesn’t write, it’s like he’s a psychic vampire on a grand scale.
