MMO Blood Rites makes its way to Western shores (again)

If your MMORPG diet is hankering for another free-to-play import set in a fantasy setting, then you’re in luck: Blood Rites has arrived in the west, although apparently not for the first time, as it seems to have launched at least once before in 2011 via developer Syncopate (this new version appears to be published by BIG MMO Game Network Limited, which runs a couple of other smaller-scale MMOs). Admittedly, this game eluded our notice with its more recent April 1st arrival, but here it is a month later and still chugging along and even celebrating the fact.

Blood Rites describes itself as a “challenging yet beautiful” world where “fearless and romantic souls” will thrive. The MMO features four starter archetypes that can be molded into new classes at level 20 along with 80 levels’ worth of content. It also features arena battles and guild wars, a “dynamic” spell casting system, and even divine helpers who will join you in battle.

If you’re curious to find out a bit more on how it all works, there’s a beginner’s guide that walks you through every stage of your avatar’s life from level 1 to 80, or you could just simply have a gander at the website.

There are some old MMORPGs I’d give a go if they released in the West, but this one already had a release and failed. I’m guessing there was a reason for that.

It’s not like a game that had a big overhaul release and is different than the failed version, this looks to be the same game that failed in the west 8 years ago. This release seems to be from a company searching for the rights to something they can get for cheap to release and have an MMORPG.

It’s Open PvP with paid botting – so I guess the people paying to let their characters bot grind all day will be the ones ganking you the easiest?

I appreciate all MMORPG news, and I poked all around the site and for info on the game, but in the end this game doesn’t excite me at all nor have anything that makes me want to actually play it.

Good luck to those that do :D

There have got to be some actual decent titles that haven’t been released or didn’t get proper treatment in the West that people could get the rights to, but I guess they wouldn’t be as cheap as getting the rights to failed releases from a decade ago.

Is the site down now or is it just me?

Lucky you, it worked for me and it seems the game has everything you would expect from a bad p2w mmo. One of the cash shop sections is even named botting and contains exactly what you think that is.
