Black Desert Online offers up a new poacher to hunt while starting a guild attendance event on Xbox One

Bored now.

Who wants to go beat the snot out of a very specific poacher in Black Desert Online? The game’s newest patch adds in a poacher who spawns in several regions of Kamasylvia, dropping a treasure chest that rewards players with silver and a variety of useful items. Players can also take part in the Starry Night event to pick up Star Shards and Moon Shards, which can be sold for a nice chunk of change as well. Make money and hunt poachers! That’s the game.

Those of you playing on the game’s Xbox One client, meanwhile, will be able to take part in a new guild attendance event that requires a medium-sized guild of 30 or more members. From there, the event is just… well, logging in daily to collect free stuff. It’s not the most elaborate sequence of events, but it should encourage players to join guilds and stay in those guilds for a while.

You can also check on our small ode to the joys of AFK play in BDO if you’re a bit underwhelmed by the smaller patch; with an expansion due next week for PC, it’s not exactly a shock that the patch is smaller.

How much silver is interesting to anyone? I hear about people with hundreds of millions of silver not uncommonly in that game. Is the poacher what, driving a semi-truck full of silver pieces?

Hundreds of Millions? The asking price for the most interesting things in this game is a couple of billions and billionaires aren’t a rare sight nowadays.

A loaf of bread in the Black Desert World costs 5million Silver. It’s like Venezuela

No no no.

BDO is a state run economy. Even if you have millions bread only costs a few thousand because they only let you sell it for that much.

Depends on how much activity is involved.

AFK income anything over or around 3-5m/hr is very compelling. Most AFK processing/fishing yields about 2m/hr so fishing events. You see this mostly on “Koi” events like the recent Ellie Festival with Pearl Mullets.

Time gated income, such as a once a day activity, anything around 100m/day is pretty decent add. Many activities like imperial turn ins or other once a day kind of activities are normally around 30-40m/day so doubling that is pretty compelling.

Active income depends where you’re at with the game. High end players make over 50m/hr at high end spots where as newer players can easily make 10m-20m/hr with minimal gear investment even on newer accounts.

So something like the Poacher is more like a value add to Kamasylvia spots over all. If you’re high end it’s not something that would get you out of a top end spot like Hystria but might be a nice little add if you’re already in Kamasylvia instead grinding down there for whatever reason.

I’ve got a very modest 900m right now, but most of my wealth is pretty liquid. So I’ve got money invested on high value, in demand items– like memory fragments.

I’m pretty comfortable with it, if I want to gear up an alt, that’s more than enough money, but I’m also one of those very conservative players too, I like to hoard.
