Overwatch third anniversary is live with new skins, free-play weekend, and new match modes

Overwatch’s third anniversary is upon us, and you know what that means: a whole bunch of inappropriate or weird skins for your favorite heroes, and an anniversary-themed lockbox to dispense them. The game is also free through May 28th to celebrate, so everyone can jump on in to give it a go through the holiday weekend. (“Ug, that explains so much about the trash game I was just in,” my husband says, reading over my shoulder.)

The big news, however, is the formal release of the Overwatch Workshop, or more specifically, the first two Workshop-designed modes in the arcade, Hero Gauntlet and Mirrored Deathmatch. People are already complaining about design issues and leavers in both Hero Gauntlet and Mirrored Deathmatch, which is odd since it was on the test server for a bit ahead of time. Happy patch week!
