World of Warcraft previews patch 8.2 heritage armor for Gnomes and Tauren

As World of Warcraft players are gearing up for WoW Classic’s first big stress test this evening, Blizzard is dropping more teases for the upcoming 8.2 Rise of Azshara update, specifically in the form of new heritage armor for the cutest races in the game. I like gnomes and tauren, so I’m not even gonna make any cow jokes, though I’m definitely thinking “go gnome or go home” right now.

“Players with maximum-level (120) gnomes or tauren who are Exalted with their faction (Gnomeregan or Thunder Bluff respectively) will be able to embark on a new quest line for each race to learn more about their history,” Blizzard says. “Once you complete your quest, you’ll gain a new Heritage Armor transmogrification set unique to your race and be able to show off your pride.

There’s an extra note in the brief dev blog reminding Tauren that they’ll also have to finish the War Campaign quest Stay of Execution post-Rise of Azshara too.

Im a horde only player, and gave up on WoW after leveling a single toon to 120 in BfA.. but i like the fact that they are giving classic races heritage armor. I was really into chasing transmogs. I wish WotLK had transmogs and ditched the dungeon finder.

I like the goggles for the gnomes. The Taruen set fits but I don’t actually have any. Tauren are in an odd space for me, a race I like the lore of and visiting their areas but don’t like actually playing one.

If I still played I’d be very curious about goblin heritage armor. I presume it would be mechanical looking and singed.

Wow that’s what the gnomes look like in the game now? Look at how cute that female gnome face is!

Though it is a bit strange the male and female features are so very different. He has a huge nose, sunken eyes with a forehead sticking out too. I guess they could be from different clans or something maybe :P

Well, it took them almost 14 years. So, they had to be good.

– Are you… wearing your dead grandpa’s horns on your shoulder? O_o
– Yeah! Stylish ain’t it?!

The horns are on the totem sitting on the back. It’s just a bad angle. The shoulder.is just the bird skull.

…least you can poke the pigtails through the helm piece with mine. So I’m not complaining. <3

I think it would like better without the over sized single shoulder pad on the male Tauren. It looks like he has a second head stuck on his shoulder. It even looks like he tilted his over a little to avoid getting hit with the horns.

The horns are actually on a big totem sitting on the back, not part.of.the shoulders. The shoulder is just the bird skull. You.can just disable cloak if you don’t like the totem.

oh ok now I see it. Sorry, with Blizzard’s large shoulder fetish I just assumed that it was all one massive shoulder pad. But even without the horns the bird skull is huge.

The Tauren set looks really awesome. It’s a shame that I’m really only interested in vanilla anymore and so will never get to wear it.
