Warping shadow.

The gates have not yet been thrown wide for Final Fantasy XIV’s third expansion, Shadowbringers, but players can now see what’s on the other side pretty clearly. Yesterday’s Letter from the Producer Live covered the game’s battle system changes in detail, and they are extensive. No more DPS stances for tanks, which are now given a pure tank stance to draw enmity. Extensive changes to pets. The addition of charges to actions. There are helpful summaries available, since there’s a whole lot of stuff going down at once.

But if you don’t want to read about all of it, you can enjoy yourself with the new job action trailer just below, showing off the actions sported by every one of the jobs including the upcoming Gunbreaker and Dancer. You can also catch a glimpse of the Viera and Hrothgar in the action trailer… or you can make one for yourself with the new benchmark available now, allowing you to both test your system performance and play around with character creation for the new races. So yes, you do have a month left to wait, but this should help take the edge off.

The game also hit the 16 million registered player mark, which is a pretty impressive new high-water mark for registered accounts (how many are currently playing actively is not known). Also, players are told to keep track of their tomestones ahead of the patch 5.0 deployment, as the currency will be changing with the expansion launch.
