The bell tolls for Path of Exile’s melee in its upcoming league, but it’s the celebratory sort of bell. According to the latest set of answers from the development team, there are balance improvements for two-handed weapons just like other melee mechanics, as well as upcoming previews for the melee-based Ascendancy classes. On the flip side, melee-based bosses will also be hitting harder when they connect, since melee balance is a sword that cuts both ways. Literally, on account of swords being melee weapons and all.
The list of questions and changes don’t stop there, either; Winter Orb is receiving adjustments to bring it more in line with other skills, for example. There are also more bits of detail about things like Incubators (which players generally will not be awash in without specifically trying to be) and the date for the full patch notes (June 4th in the US).
