Final Fantasy XIV details the quality-of-life improvements on the way for Shadowbringers

This is not your house. This is a plaza. Get a house.

A lot of big improvements have arrived in Final Fantasy XIV to make Shadowbringers more fun to play. But there are also a lot of little improvements due with the expansion, like the addition of a height indicator to quest objectives on the minimap. Now you can tell at a glance if your target is above or below your current position, making things just a little bit less confusing. And the latest development blog is all about these quality-of-life improvements across the board.

For example, players can now link Party Finder groups in chat and view Party Finder entries directly by the player who started the group, also from chat. Hairstyle selections will now tell you where you obtained that hairstyle as well as allowing retainers to access unlocked hair. Controllers will vibrate when your queue pops. It’s all little stuff, but it should make moment-to-moment play more fun when the game’s early access kicks off in just under three weeks. You can check out more of what to expect with our media tour summary.

When are they going to release “classic” FF14?

I feel like requesting that would be extremely insulting to a team that got put on blast by gamers and critics alike for 1.0 with scathing reviews , and having to spend a lot of resources to rebuild the game, only to have people request a “classic” FFXIV now.

Agreed. There is absolutely no need for a classic FFXIV and no one I play with has ever wished for it. People are still looking forward to the next expansion(s) not clamoring for the “old days”, whatever the hell that means.

Seriously, no “repair all”????

That already exists.

To actually repair everything equipped and in your inventory you have to go through like 7 different screens. One button to repair all is very much needed.

Is that a PS4 thing? On PC, it’s 1 menu, click on “repair all”. Done deal.

I did it last night. I had to repair equipped, then armoury chest, then inventory. I think there was more than 3 tabs as well.

Ok, understood. I have no idea why anyone would want to repair items in their inventory or armory (rare case of needing to do so before putting a piece in the glam chest), but yes…if you need to repair items in 3 different “locations” more than 1 tab is needed.

Personally, I can see why this isn’t something on their list of priorities.
