“Trapped for thousands of years in the Domain of Timeless Conflict, Wraeclast’s mightiest military leaders have been fighting an eternal war. In Path of Exile: Legion, you’ll set free their legions and battle them to earn valuable rewards. Additionally in this latest expansion, Grinding Gear Games has created an entirely new melee combat experience. All melee attacks now hit multiple enemies, and all movement skills are now instant, with additional movement and dodging skills added to various classes.”
Stay tuned for this evening; we’ll be streaming our first adventures in the new league live tonight at 8 p.m. EDT on OPTV (server stability permitting!). And in the meantime, check out some of our past coverage on the update, especially MJ’s initial reveal and chat with Grinding Gear!

The launch of Path of Exile: Legion is imminent! As always, we've gathered all the information you need to know about what happens on launch day and information on how to start downloading early.https://t.co/isbkDRtrdK pic.twitter.com/2tUwXyxHrg

Couple of my favorite Legions guides:
GL & HF.
I am ready for this. I am going to play tomorrow as much as I can before I get my wife from work, then work on the league and once I get to maps prolly write up my Impressions on the new league as a whole. I am aiming for a Cyclone CWC Bladefall Slayer, pure phys with some Impale action, and Endurance/Frenzy charge gen. I made my own tree for a change and I HOPE its ok (185% inc life and a bunch of 2 handed damage nodes and whatnot so here we go lol)
Launch just before E3, those freakin jerks : (
I still need to figure out how the changes impact a few characters on standard and figure out exactly the character I want to level (leaning towards actually leveling my solo-oriented aurabot since I turned an existing higher level character into that on standard, so no clue how leveling works). Bless the guide makers that keep these things updated between patches, because lord knows I’m too dumb/lazy to figure it all out on my own. I’ll just let them do the heavy lifting and make minor tweaks to their builds instead.
Oh well, guess I’ll be seriously diving into this league in a few weeks when I’m far, far behind everyone else.
You know normally I would be quite excited by a new league start and would have spent a few hours happily trying to work up a league starter on Path of Building, updating loot filters and so.
This one is the first in a while that I won’t be jumping into straight away as I find myself totally absorbed with another more super hero like mmo.
I know I will be playing this PoE league at some point maybe even later this weekend and I am going to at least run one character to mid tier mapping but yeah for now distracted elsewhere.
Any way good luck to those that are jumping in right at the start I hope you all have a fun time and may rngesus bless your loot drops :-)
EDIT: well this article did prompt me to open steam up to at least download the update and at 10.9 GB with the way PoE updates on steam and my internet I probably couldn’t be ready for league start even if I wanted to hehe.
10.9 Gb! Wow, that’s less an update and more a whole game. That’s nuts.
I moved from Steam to the native installer and it’s SO MUCH BETTER. Seriously, it’s super worth it, the downloads and installs seem smaller and go MUCH MUCH faster. You could probably get the latest build fully downloaded and updated on that client before Steam finishes updating.
Really depends on the person/connection. I was done on Steam like 15 mins ago with the update.
It’s more the installation time through Steam. Even on a SSD it would take ages. Seems to be the way the game is updated through Steam more than anything else. Every person I know that’s swapped (it’s a handful beyond me) has noticed much faster patching times compared to Steam. I know my patch times decreased CONSIDERABLY when I moved to the stand-alone launcher.
I mean, again, I was done forever ago with no issues either downloading or installing and in top 1000 in queue atm all through Steam.
Sounds like if you have issues though the stand alone installer might be a good fix for those people.
Update is under 5 gigs. Always use the native launcher for PoE.
One thing I’ve noticed is, as promised, Act 1 critters hit way harder now. And, those cute little Rhoas! What funny little barking sounds they make just before they charge stun you.
As a terribad who routinely dies to dumb shit, I’m looking forward to the low level mobs wiping the floor with me.
