Path of Exile fixes Legion bugs and adds a visual guide for incubators

Oh, that's the path.

The next patch to Legion for Path of Exile is due out by the end of the week, and that’s good news. Further good news for players in the Legion league, though, comes in the form of the patch’s big feature for incubators. The mechanics aren’t changing, but you’ll now have a visual indicator of how close an incubator is to dropping its item, meaning that you no longer need to simply hope you’re making progress or guess at the progress left to make. Now it’s clear!

Equally clear is that there were a number of bugs through various skill interactions, item abilities, and other minor niggling issues. A number of those have also been fixed, to the point that “fixed a bug where” appears more in the patch notes than any other phrase. Lots of bugs fixed, lots of improvements made, and an indicator of the progress you’re making on objectives. That seems like a good patch all around.

Don’t care too much about the Incubators, but I could 100% use a new visual for Generals to show up in that sea of mixed/blurred colors. Half the time I see a General it’s like 2 seconds left on the clock.

At first i thought those arrow trails pointed in the direction of things of interest allowing me to follow them directly to the things I want to unfreeze… but nope.

Its just a big random “pop my speed potion and run around hoping to get lucky” event instead.

The other thing is, the legion events are extremely against playing solo. A team of 4 can pretty much unfreeze everything on screen… where as solo, you are lucky if you can even do 10% before the time runs out. I think they should give a LOT more time depending on the fewer people in your group.

I dunno I think it’s really build based. Doing ED/Contagion and you can chain between packs very easily as they are usually set up in concentric circles so long as you get one “ring” it typically will get the others, especially if your Contagion AOE is massive. For melee builds it’s very much a game as you say of move speed and run around hoping you got lucky in the direction you picked. This really varies on skill picked. For projectile builds…just yikes.

Otherwise I like them, just wish the Generals were more visible so I could know to focus them. The only one that stands out that I’ve seen has been the Karui one cause she’s riding a giant shark and is massive compared to every other unit. I think for Eternal Empire I saw Lioneye once but only saw him at the last second cause no icon and he just looked like a rare.

I never really enjoyed ED/Contagion as it just feels a bit off to me and not fun even though I have given it a go in a few leagues. That said as soon as I saw the Legion preview I thought that would be a strong combo for it. I mean lots of mobs in a closely packed state its tailor made for the league.

Personally I went with a storm brand build for much the same reasons it works well in a densely packed area. I imagine arc mines or similar would work too.

Not really sure about melee builds as I haven’t explored the changes so its hard to make a recommendation on those without trying them out first.

Lightning Arrow with Mirage Archer and Blink. Everybody shoots AoE. My third character. First was Incinerate Chieftain, which works pretty well. Second was Necromancer, which was . . . interesting. LA seems good so far.

It is kinda interesting that the buff to melee skills should come when the more AoE you have the better for the league. I tried Ground Slam with my Marauder starting out, but it just didn’t have enough umph to break many soldiers. Then I switched to Sunder, which did pretty well, but just can’t touch the number of Legion soldiers Incinerate breaks free.

Interested to see what Scourge Arrow/Mirage Archer will do.

GGG is patching in 3.7.1 now. Game’s had lots of lag and long loading screens and a few crashes. Hope this patch helps.
