World of Warcraft offers up a survival guide for next week’s Rise of Azshara launch

We all remain. We do not become.

The next major World of Warcraft patch has been in testing for so long that we can hardly blame anyone who just opted out of reading about it, content to just wait until it arrived in the wild. That’s finally happening on June 25th, which means that you’ll need to be ready… and happily, you can get ready with a crash course on the patch features in video form. If you’ve been intentionally avoiding learning more, well, it’s time to learn more.

Of course, the core features of the patch remain the same as was announced during last year’s BlizzCon, the two new zones of Nazjatar and Mechagon offering new gear upgrades, new raids and dungeons, and new world quests to take on. There’s also more lore and story, of course, and new cosmetic items along with the new Benthic armor. Check out the full survival guide in the video just below if you’re on the back foot for preparing for the patch; fortunately, you still have a few days to get ready.

This looks great and it’s only a patch.

I caught myself spending much more time in classic last night than i was expecting, i mainly logged in to revive my dead character, then thought i’d at least finish the first quest, wasn’t as many people but still took a very long time to complete.

Some of that time was each battle is a thing again in that you don’t faceroll the content, each fight takes a little time, and you even need to use your rusty dagger too.

Heading back into retail wow from classic feels like jumping out of your standard domestic GM/Ford into a Lamborghini Veneno. Looking at modern wow objectively it’s one solid highly polished well maintained mmorpg.

Some of this looks quite good. I had watched Bellular’s take on this patch and it looks like they’re ripping out a lot of the excessive RNG in gear for a more deterministic approach.

BfA has not been great to put it nicely and I left it for months, but at least I’m able to enjoy playing my warlock again so I’m willing to try 8.2 out (and I want the new goblin models and curious about the heritage armor in 8.2.5), and see if they have indeed addressed some of the issues.

My biggest gripe with BfA is the lack of new abilities from leveling up, and how bad scaling was implemented. The scaling is at least better than it was, and these new areas at least have potential to be enjoyable. If not, there’s always more CoX and Amid Evil just left early access.

If they are removing a chunk of the RNG and giving me back some customization I might see if my wife wants to dive back in. I kinda miss playing my little gnome priest and my troll warlock.

To my understanding between this video and the Bellular one, you get those benthic tokens for armor pieces and when you upgrade them, you choose which stat(s) go up, so you can focus on haste over crit or what have you. I don’t have the full details but that’s the gist of it to my knowledge.

I left wow for FF14 for 4-5 months but now I’m back, not really interested in shadowbringers as everyone else is

BFA is no different then Legion. WQ check, AP grind check, All classes feel the same check, The only thing missing is a weapon skin and demons. Hate BFA must be the what the cool kids do when the listen to things like Asmongold who has no clue about WoW. There is more to do this xpac then Legion and is far better.

Looks to me like Russian bots like to interfere with elections and mmorpg’s. People can always go grab that free key that is selling early access packs for a 15 year old game built on Unreal3 Astellia. Nothing like a Korean PvP game with gear enhance, pets with stats and cards to make a quick cash grab from the lemmings.

The only way to survive this expansion is to not play it in the first place.

I really wish they would add a text option for those of us who would prefer to read it rather then stare at a video >.>
