Fans of Shroud of the Avatar will soon be able to hide cloaks and keep their doors fully open among a variety of other things when Release 67 hits, but for now, the game’s QA test server has been offering up an early testing peek at some of these features since this past Friday.

In addition to the aforementioned cloaks and doors thing, R67 will be adding items of more substance including more new user polish, material bonuses for crafted rings and necklaces, the addition of loot with Components and Enchantments, and some performance improvements and bug fixes among other features. The most recent newsletter has also offered up details on several SOTA-related points of interest, like a 20% off Crown Sale to commemorate Lord British’s birthday and the usual slew of community updates and events.

As for Release 67’s arrival, players should expect all of its upcoming features this Thursday, June 27th. Now close the door, please. You’re letting all of the flies in.

So much for quality content. Rather then fix really useful thing like maps, quests, journals, scenes, etc they fix cloaks, lights, and doors. No wonder this game can’t attract people who once played to come back and stay or new players who never played.

People were promised Episode 2 stuff to start coming out a release or two back and it’s been total silence. The dev team themselves don’t seem to have a timeline or plan for the future of this game.

Episode 2 was promised years ago. Portalarium just keeps altering the deal.

The technological feat of doors staying opened or closed. Cool… now how about reworking the UI? The barely-functional map? Episode 2? Clearly those are lower priority.

It’s been nearly three years since persistence, and yet these monthly releases still read like the game is in Alpha. Sad.

I tried to long into this game again during the offer of a free house . I found I could access my account on their website but couldn’t enter the game with the same information .

I gave up on it .

Not worth it anyway. At his point its, for all intends and purposes, dead, ~100 AVG players on Steam even after they tried flooding everyone with emails begging them to return.

Its barely staying online as a playground for the few dozens of whales that still support it
