Ow, right in the face...

If you want your Final Fantasy XIV bunny to have a lore-appropriate name, you are going to have to guess. A post on the official site confirmed that Viera and Hrothgar naming conventions will not be available ahead of the launch of Shadowbringers, with plans in place to create the proper time for naming conventions post-launch. Players are naturally outraged and… oh, wait, no, players are being calm and polite and are just happy to see that the conventions haven’t been forgotten.

While you might be guessing at the name for a few days, you’ll also be happy to know that the developers are taking action to address server congestion during the expansion launch, with everything from logout timers for players idling for extended periods to potential server-wide log-off intervals to help ease the server load. That doesn’t mean that there won’t be any issues, of course, but everything possible is being done to address the issues ahead of time.
