Warframe prank demos in-game weapon in real life

How would you like to get your hands on a big ol’ blaster from Warframe? What would you do with it? Some here at MOP certianly wouldn’t mind having that chance! Digital Extremes took to the streets of the Big Apple to offer folks an opportunity to model a massive weapon for photographers. Of course, there were some hidden elements that the unsuspecting participants were not aware of, to some hilarious results. The whole set up was a prank to capture their reactions to a using the weapon out in public. And use it they did. Talk about itchy trigger fingers! You can watch all those picture-perfect responses in the video. Which is your favorite?

We’d been wondering what exactly that NYC photoshoot was about, and now we know.

Wow. Just… oh my. These people should go back to school and study a wee bit of physics, I dare say. Yikes.

I mean, the idea is cool, but the lack of realization from people here is just scary. :(

I never realised what a visually distinct weapon the opticor is. Even if I didn’t know this was from Warframe I would have recognised it.

Not to be a killjoy, but I’ve never understood why people like these prank compilations.

Oh, I love me some schadenfreude, but like… what did these randos on the street do that I should feel vindicated by their comeuppance?

Agreed…it’s not the same as saving the milkshake for the bigoted *Bleep!*hole. >.<

You know… I don’t know what I liked better or what was worse…

The reactions of people freaking out and throwing the prop gun off themselves as quickly as they possibly could the second something split apart… Not that I blame them, even if they are tossing it at a friend.

Or how that older lady was cackling even before she ‘pulled the trigger’, and continued to do so when the stranger off to the side went ‘What the…?! What are you doing…?!’. That’s a scary lady right there…

Or the one guy who played it off like he was firing it with a bit of an exaggerated recoil… Only to see something happen, and he just keeps stumbling back into the backdrop.

Why I like Warframe’s developers… Might not always like some of the stuff in the game, but the devs? Good folk.

Obviously they picked out the best ones, but it was still amusing how many of the people had a “it wasn’t me” reaction.

Definitely, and it shows because some of them are sold more on the reactions of the bystanders than the person in the shot. When it happens, and it cuts towards one of the people gathering to watch just bolting…? Love it.

Haha…there’s a reason they chose Opticor. It has “that” reputation. (At least, until the progressive Riven nerfs keep killing it.)

I have a demigod-ly rolled Opticor riven that gives me about +120% Crit Chance and Crit Damage each. It’s pretty absurd.
