Starbase’s latest video hints at how robots start with nothing… to build everything

OK, Starbase. We get it. You’re good at videos. First it was a video on spaceship and mounted weaponry combat. Then a video on the game’s de facto housing – rentals and construction of apartment lots and whole space stations. Then one about tractor beams and cargo holds.

Today’s, however, isn’t quite as informational as those; it’s more an atmospheric origin story about how the player begins with nothing, just “an asteroid, a pickaxe… and a Robot.” Spoiler, you’re the robot, and you look curiously like my Ithorian wearing Sentinel armor, so let’s just say it’s growing on me.

Starbase is an actual MMO announced back in May under the banner of Finnish dev Frozenbyte, which calls it a “massively multiplayer online game with gameplay focused on building and designing spaceships and stations, exploration, resource gathering, crafting, trading, and combat” and a focus on simulation, production, and construction on a galactic scale.
