World of Warcraft: Classic outlines the Hunter issues that are being worked on for the game’s launch

A pet you can no longer have.

Ah, the endless dance of issues and things which are not actually issues in World of Warcraft: Classic. Let’s recap quickly. The fact that Hunters have a “dead zone” wherein you’re out of melee range but also can’t hit the target with any ranged abilities either? Not a bug, it’s working as intended. The fact that Crocolisk pets are consuming too many server resources? A bug that’s already got a fix in place. The fact that Aimed Shot’s tooltip reflects a speed boost it doesn’t actually get when you have on a quiver or ammo pouch? A bug that’s still being tested. Yes, it’s all about Hunters this time.

The post about specific Hunter issues outlines the notable differences between the bugs that have been fixed or will be fixed with the game’s next patch, the issues that are still being tested in order to confirm the issue and figure out how to fix it, and the things that… well, they’re not bugs, that’s how the game works. If your experience of playing a Hunter during the various beta tests and stress tests has felt a bit off, take a look at the issues list to see if the developers agree and what will be done about it.

I find it amusing that the header image is of a hunter with a Stompasaurus pet. Exotic pets for BM hunters didn’t happen until BC.

(I remember vividly taking my level 70 self out to Un’goro to capture the first Devilsaur I saw. Bliss.)

I think it’s hilarious that people are complaining about the dead zone, charges not triggering traps, and frost trap breaking stealth.

These were all if not fundamental, at least well-known, understood and exploited issues by/against hunters in vanilla. We’d constantly drop frost traps around/behind the cadre of mages in Tarren mill fights because Rogues trying to gank them was so predictable. (Plus, the joy of a rogue both losing stealth AND being slowed within range of a hunter was one of the few easy-kills we could get back then…)

I’d be a terrible dev, because it would be hard not to reply to people complaining about them with a big “D’oh!” stamp….

Listening to “Countdown to Classic” are we?

We should be fine as long as rolling on every melee weapon we see still works.

Only melee weapons? Why stop there, EVERYTHING IS A HUNTER WEAPON! That cloak? Hunter weapon. Plate boots? Hunter weapon. Wand? Definitely a hunter weapon.

According to one instance my caster character was in, even an Intel ring was a Hunter weapon. /sigh

This hunter was correct. Hunters need intel to cast attacks and traps, therefor intel rings are hunter weapons. Listen to hunters, they know what they are talking about.
