But we're evil.

It’s about to be a good day for MMO players who’ve always wanted to play superheroes on their Nintendo handheld, as DC Universe Online’s Switch launch day has officially arrived.

SOE – now Daybreak – launched the MMORPG for PC over eight years ago, and it remains one of the company’s only multi-platform titles, with a presence on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and as of today, the Switch. It’s also one of the few true MMORPGs on console period.

Daybreak’s previously confirmed that the game will indeed be free-to-play on the Switch, and Switch players will be playing on their own accounts and servers apart from the other platforms, so don’t expect any crossplatforminess here.

The game has been offline all morning for the rollout of GU96, which “primarily launches the game of Nintendo Switch,” though the Switch service is intended to begin at noon EDT (right as this post goes live), with the rest of the servers expected to return to service “shortly after.”
