It’s no secret that Eternal Magic, the now-in-beta PvP MMO from Chinese developer Duoyi, got off to a bad start with the community earlier this year by hosting an actual beauty contest “for the girls.” But perhaps the greater sin, at least in the eyes of the gaming genre, is outright plagiarism.

Indeed, Eternal Magic is being pelted by accusations from gamers that it has outright lifted art assets, audio, and PvP map designs from titles such as Guild Wars 2, SMITE, and World of Warcraft. One Redditor posted a damning picture showing a side-by-side comparison between an Eternal Magic arena and Guild Wars 2’s Skyhammer map, and let’s just say that the similarities are enough that accidental mimicry seems dubious:

Guild Wars 2’s community is not amused. And these PvP areas look quite similar to WoW’s battlegrounds:

We have reached out to Eternal Magic’s PR for a statement from the studio about the accusations and will update when we have it.
