Grim Dawn previews new areas, story, and rebalanced items for its next major content update

Dim grawn.

The next major update for Grim Dawn is apparently so large that the only way for the developers to discuss it is in tones similar to a furniture salesman describing the incredible deals being offered on a living room set. Fortunately, that’s being backed up by a whole lot of actual content. Sure, it’s good that the developers went back and rebalanced a whole lot of low-level faction items, but was that enough? No! The game also has updates to all of its Epic items to bring them up to par!

Is that enough for an update? No! It also has a whole new chunk of story content in which players head to the Tomb of the Heretic to deal with a new threat surrounding the Korvan Basin. And that’s not enough, because this update also contains even more new items in that new story content! And it may contain some free throw pillows, all for the insanely low price of waiting until the update releases later this year!

I have a hard time getting into Grim Dawn because of how dated it looks and it really shows in the animations which are key IMO in an action game.

I cant think of many diablo-type games that look better than Grim Dawn tbh

Lost Ark is the only one on this list that definetly looks better.

Just out of curiosity, could you point me to an ARPG that to you looks less dated?

This shows that opinions should not be presented as facts.
I am now after looking at your list no longer sure I know what you mean by “less dated”, but I know that to me none of your examples look better than GD.

The game suffers from what all ARPG’s have bad RNG just to get better gear. End games is nothing but grind the same content just on a harder difficulty in the hopes of better gear drops.

not as much as you’d think: Crafting and faction vendors are very reliable ways of getting decent kit and your resists in order. Obviously you need to grind to get the best in slot, but really, what did you expect?

Crate continues to renew my faith in the gaming industry.. Thanks again guys for making a game that doesn’t try to rip-off the consumer every chance it gets.

Didnt expect more content, thought they were moving onto a new game. But good to hear.

They are done with expansions for Grim Dawn. And as usual when they went in to fix one thing, they got side tracked with 10 other things, which lead to other things, and Bam! A whole new content patch. That’s the problem with passion projects.

They are reportedly working on a city builder game unrelated to Grim Dawn.

Meh. I was hoping for new ARPG

Crate haven’t ruled out doing another arpg in the future and have mentioned Grim Dawn 2 as a distinct possibility.

However before that they wanted to move away and do something else. Understandably so given that they have worked on Grim Dawn almost exclusively for so long.
