Pirate101 and Wizard101 are both getting new card packs

In the game of pirates vs. wizards, we all win

Coming soon, Kingisle will simultaneously launch new card packs for both Wizard101 and Pirate101, bringing them directly to live with no stop on the test server beforehand.

Speaking of Pirate101, the seven-year-old game is getting a nerf to its beginner experience, as KingsIsle determined that new players were getting trounced a little too often by enemies. Enemies level 1 through 40 have had their health reduced while nautical XP requirements are now vastly lowered. “Solo combat should be a little easier, and raiding parties should be REALLY effective now,” the devs said.

Now for some bad news: Pirate101’s devs are not working on or planning any new book-level content right now. “To be clear, that doesn’t mean that we’re abandoning new content for Pirate101,” the team said, “it simply means that updates won’t be on such a grand scale in the foreseeable future.”

Wizard101 recently celebrated its 11th birthday, and Massively OP’s MJ was on hand for the celebrations:

Kingisle has clarified that it didn’t mean CCG in terms of a brand-new game, just in the card pack sense. We’ve updated this article accordingly.
