Sea of Thieves dates its next update and talks about TwitchCon and NYCC

You’re late, Mr. Neate. Sea of Thieves’ regular developer update video has arrived a day behind schedule, and it’s hard to know whether this edition is worth waiting for as most of it involves executive producer Joe Neate recounting his time at TwitchCon and bringing up plans for New York Comic Con. That said, there are a couple of points of interest to pull from the video.

For one thing, the game’s next update, Fort of the Damned, will arrive on Wednesday, October 16th. As one would expect from its arrival month and its title, Fort of the Damned promises to be “suitably themed” for the spooky month, as Neate puts it. Details on what’s in this update are expected to start trickling forth some time next week.

After a reportedly successful trip to TwitchCon, Sea of Thieves will continue to sail the germ-ridden con seas as it makes way for New York Comic Con this weekend. Plans include a lore-focused panel for the game on Saturday, October 5th, which promises to offer some teases about the next Tall Tales and a hint about some more Sea of Thieves comics. The panel will be recorded and posted online at a later time; no livestreaming.

Finally, the very end of the video has Neate dropping a cheeky little hint about the Crook’s Hollow island and how he wouldn’t want to go there at night, which might make some players check their chins. Make sure to watch the update to the absolute end for that little tease. Or just blip through to the very last few seconds if you want.
