The Daily Grind: What MMO do you wish could live forever?

You all know that I love my hypotheticals by now, so here’s another one for our daily discussion period. Imagine that you have the power to slap a protection policy of a type on a single MMORPG, thereby ensuring that it would endure forever. You would never have to worry about the game closing or becoming obsolete to the point where modern computers couldn’t run it. Rather, no matter if it was a year from now or a half-century from now, you would have the assurance that it would still be up and running.

What would that game be? Which one MMO would you protect with that precious shield?

I don’t have to think very hard about this one; I would slap a lifetime policy on Lord of the Rings Online. That’s a game that I never want to see die, even if the population dwindles down somewhat. It’s too expansive, too detailed, and too immersive of a game world to ever lose. But that’s me — what about you?

Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!
