Conan Exiles drops free patch and Debaucheries of Derketo DLC today

It’s DLC day for Conan Exiles, and we hope you like “steamy” because that’s how Funcom is characterizing The Debaucheries of Derketo. “Give in to temptation,” suggests the studio.

“Released today on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4, Debaucheries of Derketo offers Conan Exiles players a wide variety of new building pieces, outfits and emotes. Also released is a free update, giving everyone access to the brand-new Wine Cellar dungeon, where you will find the new Khari Warrior and Khari Priest armor sets.”

Among those building pieces are basically Ewok villages, along with the beer-chugging emote too. And as for that free patch, it’s also got inventory optimizations and new idle animations. The DLC is just about 10 bucks and is available on both PC and console, though it looks like there’s been a bit of an Xbox snafu.

The trailer actually makes Conan Exiles look more like an MMORPG (at least to me) than the “make your own fun” sandbox it seemed to be when I tried it.

My impressions of Exiles didn’t suggest to me that the game is usually as interactive or player-socialization-friendly as the trailer makes it appear.

Or maybe I’ve got it all wrong? I’ve been wrong before, and I’ll likely be wrong again … :-)

Get a PVE server and play with friends.

Wise advice, John! Alas, I don’t have enough RL gamer friends who enjoy the Conan franchise to do that right now, but maybe down the line?

Me and my friends ran our own server for a little bit. You don’t necessarily need rl gamer friends. Outside of one me and my friends are all online that play together with the other one being my best friend that lives with me

I recognize that outfit on the first picture. That’s PLATE MAIL!

She’s fully protected!

I’m sure it has the Red Sonja seal of approval!

It’s not just plate mail, that’s full gold plated ornate adamantine mail. It’s got the highest defense of any armor to be found!

More like scale mail.

This is plate mail:

Seeing that picture whatever show it’s from makes me want an ElfQuest MMO. LOL

Official artwork for the female version of Dragon Quest III’s Warrior class (though I’ve seen a female NPC with that exact outfit in a bar in Dragon Quest XI).

BTW, there is an MMO with that art style: Dragon Quest X. Unfortunately only in Japanese, AFAIK, and while the series’ executive producer has talked about bringing it to the west, the intent was to turn it into an offline game in order to do so.

The last time I played a Dragon Quest game it was still on the original 6-bit NES in the late 80’s. But here in the U.S. it was called Dragon Warrior. Moved from it to AD&D Warrior’s of the Eternal Sun on Sega Genesis.
Anyways you are correct that is indeed scalemail. Platemail would be what Heath Ledger wore in A Knights Take. Then there is the still in use chainmail and leather.

Perfect outfit for the modern woman on the go. Take it from the dungeon to the beach and be dressed for the occasion.

Seems like time to re-run this link: Thirteen Types of Ridiculous Female Armor in MMORPG’s.

I think it’s great that the 6 types they show are really just 1 type. lol.

Years ago there was someone that did a comparison of ridiculous gender differences in MMO races. To the point where you couldn’t imagine they were the same species. I wish I could see that again.

Did any armor of that sort make it into the MMO? I remember it being quite modest for the most part.
