Torchlight Frontiers’ alpha adds enchanting, contracts, and new class skills

Is it weird how Torchlight Frontiers’ alpha updates are more exciting than many regular live MMO patches? Maybe it is because we are still seeing this MMOARPG take shape as the developers put the final touches on core systems.

This is certainly the case with this week’s Update 9: Seeds of Fortune. Echtra Games plugged in the new enchanting system, planted a “luck tree” in forts, brought back a revamped contract and fame feature, and added two more skills for each of the game’s three classes.

“Contracts, fame quests, and an improved quest UI enhance the account-level goals and rewards — including more pets,” said Project Lead Tyler Thompson. “Another batch of class skills adds strategic depth and variety. On top of it all, we have a huge set of bug fixes, new content, tuning changes, and polish.”

Curious about Torchlight Frontiers? Then you definitely need to be following MOP’s Chris as he plays through the game in his Choose My Adventure series!
