With the newest update to Star Citizen, the game has hopefully fixed its little space rock vs. face problem (spoiler: space rock wins). Alpha 3.7.1 is now live, introducing a number of fixes and adjustments to the alpha version of the space sandbox.

The primary fix, of course, is the removal of interdiction by asteroids as well as several other adjustments we previously reported like Mantis interdiction features counting as a hostile act and the temporary removal of quantum drive overheating. Interdiction rates in general have also been adjusted, and there are a number of likely welcome bug fixes like the end of kiosk screen flickering and the removal of the Area 18 “ghost train.”

In other Star Citizen news, CitizenCon is fast approaching and now visitors and viewers alike have a schedule of events to look forward to. Panels planned for this year include planet generation tech, an early look at in-game prisons, a detailed preview of the microTech planet, new ship reveals, and a look at a “new high-octane game mode” that’s in the works. The event all wraps up with a closing keynote that promises a “presentation you won’t want to miss.”

CitizenCon will be broadcasting the Anvil Stage panels on the Star Citizen Twitch channel and uploading panels from the Croshaw Auditorium to YouTube after the event. For those who are going to Manchester, UK, information on how to get to the events as well as explore the local city are detailed here.
