PC fans of Monster Hunter: World have been left in the cold without any firm launch date for the Iceborne expansion, but now they can likely feel a little warmer as Capcom has confirmed a release date of Thursday, January 9th, 2020 for the rime-coated expansion pack on Steam.

A new landing page outlines a number of bells and whistles for the PC version of the game, including 4K resolution, ultrawide monitor support, a wide array of graphical customization options, DirectX 12 support, a new high-resolution texture pack that can be downloaded for free at launch, and improved keyboard and mouse controls. The page also offered a variety of PC spec details for those who want to push the game to its absolute visual limits (or at the very least try to run the game).

Pre-orders for the expansion are available as either a standalone purchase or a “Master Edition” that bundles the original game and Iceborne together. Each version also comes in standard or digital deluxe flavors which pack in a number of cosmetic items. There’s also a trailer for Iceborne in 4K resolution and 60 FPS that can be viewed below.

Passing on this xpac and any future ones until they catch up on the PC release dates.

The first game was fun (I have 400 -500 hours), but they made more than enough cash to get these out quicker, and not release with lazy bugs that took too long to fix (some still aren’t fixed!!).

My backlog will suffice.

Really sucks how PC is kind of like a second class citizen for MHW. I kind of get it, but at the same time the hype and excitement is kind of gone by the point it launches, since it’s not like it differs greatly from the PS4 version.

Oh well, looking forward to its PC release. Kakarot’s also releasing later that month so hopefully I won’t be frozen to death by then.

Having to wait so long for the PC version of arguably my favorite gaming series has sucked, but it’s going to be so worth it. Luckily, there are a bevy of games keeping me company until then. I’m especially interested in the DirectX 12 support.

A bit too late: it would be great to have it in September but in November I’ll get RDO to farm for the next year till new Assassin’s Creed (hopefully multiplayer).

Would be nice if they did a proper co-op AC game. Unity was the closest but it was for specific missions only, and those weren’t too hard to one-man if you were later into the game.
