Today marks another update launch for Shroud of the Avatar, which is bringing some general improvements to several parts of the game, including the Despair dungeon, scenes in Tartarus, and some of the game’s combat skills.
Tartarus levels that arrived with R70 have seen a polish pass while new content has come along like new bosses, two wave battles, and five new artifacts. There’s also a second entrance that leads to the mines area added to the dungeon’s bottom level in the Savrenoc Stronghold scene.
Speaking of dungeon tweaks, the Despair dungeon has seen some upgrades including wave battles, “defeat boss” or “solve mystery” requirements to open some doors, and treasure chests that restock once all enemies are defeated.
Finally, R71 has made tweaks to Multishot, Death Shield, and Solar Flare; added some new items to craft as well as the ability to get Gold and Silver Scrap when salvaging Gold and Silver Items; updated several Artifacts; and started the process of balancing fruit and vegetable prices.
The full patch notes break it all down; it’s a pretty reasonable update full of adjustments to the current MMO, which probably will be good to see for fans of the game given its recent self-inflicted drama.
Not mentioned here is the decorations palette, which is the culmination of months of work. In my opinion it takes the best MMO housing system an makes it even better.
If you remove everything from this release that was created for the cash shop, there’s virtually nothing left.
Oh cool, maybe I can login and find some stupid dungeon digital item reward that I can’t even find out about because they banned me from the forums for asking legitimate questions. Hopefully I can find it because it’s supposed to replace a $20 USD signed book…
why is MOP still wasting internet bandwidth covering a defunct game run by an incompetent manchild?
It’s so Chris can’t complain about not having any press. Just recently Chris complained about all the bad press, but MOP proved him WRONG by showing the many articles written since inception. So if they stop writing now, Chris will complain about not having any press, good, bad, or indifferent.
Rather than look at himself as the issue Chris likes to blame everyone else for SotA’s failures.
This is not why we cover MMO patches, no.
I have to say, the maze looks fairly cheap. It looks more like a to-scale model than an actual adventure zone. There’s no variation in the texturing or any moss or anything. Mr. “1 texture + 1 texture = not good” guy might have had a point.
And of course, a maze…
“Here, let me help you with that…” BANNED!
They seriously need to have a pass on Dig In and a few other almost unused skills
Wasn’t Dig In one of the improvements? I heard him talking about it.
Hmm, didnt hear anything about it unless it was on a previous stream. He just acknowledged its one of the skills that needs work
It was in the Bard post it looks like
