Battle Bards Episode 155: FFXIV Shadowbringers

Welcome to the “Cursed Episode” of Battle Bards, where you’ll be risking bad luck and poor RNG rolls just by hearing it! But it is totally worth it, because this week the trio is tackling the astounding Shadowbringers soundtrack and it’s impressive addition to the FFXIV music library. Also, if you listen very, very carefully, a certain “la-HEE” might make a cameo!

Battle Bards is a the world’s first, best, and only MMO music podcast. Biweekly episodes alternate between examining a single MMO’s soundtrack and exploring music tracks revolving around a theme. MOP’s Justin co-hosts with bloggers Steff and Syl. The cast is available on iTunesGoogle PlayTuneInPocket CastsStitcher, and Player.FM.

One of my favorite tracks is ‘Fierce and Free’ (the day theme from Il Mheg). It didn’t make your cut but probably falls too heavily into the dreaded ‘ethereal female vocals’ category. :)

But I’m so happy you all finally reviewed the music from Shadowbringers! It’s one of the few game soundtracks I’ve loved enough to purchase.

“Insatiable” never fails to pump me up for the fight. I always turn down sound effects and turn up the volume on my headset when it comes on. I love the intro, right when you step up to the boss. I think this is my favorite track from Shadowbringers. EDIT: How could I forget to comment on “Civilizations” as well??? Those two are definitely my favorite tracks.
