Look, if at this point you’re not doing something Star Warsy in your video game, you’re just doing games wrong. Most studio are gonna jam in some sort of fake lightsaber. But the real big games? They’re gonna do a fully licensed crossover with some transmedia synergy on top.
Apparently, that includes Fortnite, as Epic Games announced this morning that it’s added Star Wars stormtrooper armor to the game so you can run around and play a pretend bad guy (you do remember they’re the bad guys, right?). Players can buy it right out of the cash shop, or you can get it as a free unlock from buying Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order through Epic’s store.“Are you ready to join the Empire? It doesn’t matter if you’re a little short (or even too tall), you can grab the Imperial Stormtrooper Outfit in the Item Shop now until November 17 at 7 PM ET! Additionally, if you purchase Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order on PC in the Epic Games Store, you’ll receive the Imperial Stormtrooper Outfit for free!”
Don’t think about it too hard. The rest of Fortnite doesn’t make any sense either.
