Thanks for answering my guild question, Justin! I think the tip about leaving a guild that isn’t working was probably the most meaningful thing you’ve said, although the rest was very helpful too. I know I’ve stayed in guilds too long because I felt bad about leaving!

I just saw that Blizzard updated their guild finder interface:

I want Justin to know he is not alone in making guild shopping a job. I try to get to know the community of a game via skulking their sub-reddits and forum posts made by specific guild members to see how much help they outright offer. Also, many mobile games with social elements like netease’s Crusaders of Light have “shoehorned” newbie guilds that you automatically join while going through the tutorials of the game.

The crazy Allods player is back to mention that while not in-game, the official Allods discord specifically has a channel designed for new players to get hooked up with guilds. These channels then fork into realm/world/shard specific channels and then to guild specific channels. This streamlined method works well for this small community so I wonder if fans of larger games couldn’t make something like this work as it would allow players to stay in contact even outside of the games they play.

I am playing KUF2. It is rough and probably should have ran with an Early Access tag on it. But it is surely something different so I am in there.

The AC allegiance system was awesome and instead of being improved upon by other games it was never replicated to my knowledge. XP ladders/chains created another way to play/advance too.
