Betawatch: Fractured is working a test server for the weekend

Fracking! Yes? No.

Is everybody working for the weekend? Well, Factured is. Although the game itself isn’t so much working as it is holding a closed test server. But it is happening this weekend! It’s specifically an alpha stress test, so fans are being asked to work the servers, and that’s just tenuous a connection enough to justify putting a song in everyone’s head.

Other beta news? Yeah, we can do that.

A light week for beta news, perhaps, but we’re in the waning days of the year, after all. And that doesn’t mean there’s nothing to be found in the list below! As always, we encourage you to let us know if something should be moved around or was missed in the list.

As always, we consider an MMO to be in open testing if it features free, public signups and will server wipe prior to launch. An MMO is marked in closed testing if it’s running a private test phase that cannot freely be accessed by the general public; it’s usually under NDA as well. Early access and crowdfunded MMOs whose tests we deem legitimate will be included. So-called “open beta” soft-launch MMOs with cash shops, no sign of launch in the west, or limited interest for our readers will not be listed; we also do not list expansions, with occasional exceptions.

Yes, MMO gamers, you too can perform the unpaid quality-control work otherwise known as game testing! Check out Massively Overpowered’s Betawatch every week for a run-down of MMOs that are still on the road to launch, even if they appear to have set up a permanent residence in a shed called early access.

Tried to play on Sunday, but the problems had already risen and I wasn’t able to. Oh well, it’s a game on alpha, and the test was specifically to stress the servers as much as possible, so I think is a good outcome? I mean, they got data and bugs to fix, that’s a good thing to find on alpha.

It was unplayable. 95% of the people couldn’t connect and those who did barely got to play as the whole server was struggling and disconnecting them. The game is trash and the developers are incompetent and incapable of running a game, whoever pays them money is in for a rude awakening. xD

lol Fractured “working” is not the word id use to describe this test… but yes, it is theoretically happening aha.

Tbf, the issue is supposedly spatialOS and not them

Havent managed to log on Fractured yet. Sometimes it gave messages for being down for upcoming hotfixes and other times messages that max concurrent player limit reaches

and open stress testing just ended prematurely, probably due to lots issues and maybe also the fact the server was so capped the backers of that alpha access level couldnt log
