Funcom’s Conan Chop Chop, newly retooled with ‘full online multiplayer,’ arrives February 25 2020

Do you folks remember the goofball multiplayer title Funcom’s been teasing all year, Conan Chop Chop? It was originally floated as an April Fools’ Day joke, but it turned out to be a real thing for PC and console, including the Switch. It got better, though, because after testing this past summer, Funcom decided to delay the original launch from September into 2020 specifically to “expand multiplayer from just couch co-op to also include full online multiplayer” – which sure does sound a lot closer to an MMO to us.

We’re rehashing all this today because Funcom and developer Mighty Kingdom have picked February 25th for the official launch.

“The game […] is set in Hyboria, the world created by fantasy author Robert E. Howard more than 80 years ago. You will be tasked with thwarting the plans of the evil wizard Thoth-Amon, who plans to resurrect the even eviler wizard Xaltotun. If he succeeds, he will condemn the world to an eternity of darkness and enslavement. Only you can stop him, but in order to do so you must use all your cunning. All your guile. You must summon all your courage and swordsmanship. You must… Chop Chop!”
