World of Warcraft’s predecessor, Warcraft III: Reforged, gets a January launch date

Whether you cut your teeth on the Warcraft trio of real-time strategy games or only came to the franchise after World of Warcraft released, you’ll soon be able to go back to a past that’s been rewritten and revamped. This is because Warcraft III: Reforged has received a January 28th, 2020, release date from Blizzard.

“Soon you’ll be able to relive the definitive real-time strategy classic, with revitalized visuals, an epic single-player campaign spanning over 60 missions, rebalanced online play, a suite of contemporary social and matchmaking features, a vast universe of player-created games, and more,” Blizzard said.

The rework of Warcraft III was originally supposed to come out in 2019, but the studio ultimately decided that it needed a bit more time to put on that famous Blizzard shine. The digital game will retail for $30, but players looking to pick up some goodies in other Blizz titles (such as a WoW meat wagon mount) can shell out $40 for the Spoils of War edition. Any pre-order will net the player access to the beta test, so you don’t even have to wait for the 28th to get into this title.

I was planning to pre-order to get access to the beta, but October happened, so I’ll be not getting it even at discount after release.

You could get eight or nine classic old-time fantasy strategy games like it from Christmas online store sales with thirty dollars.

That is a lot of money for a zero added gameplay graphics pack.

I have the original WC3 collector’s edition as I really enjoyed it even more than WC1 or 2 (which I also still have). I won’t be getting this though for various reasons. With things the way they are today that ‘Blizzard shine’ isn’t what it once was either.
