It seemed like it would never happen, it’s been years, but the unimaginable has happened. As we reported this week, Phantasy Star Online 2 is currently in the localized beta signup stage, so people can sign up to test the game! The downside is that it’s only for Xbox One, which means we’re looking at an initial playerbase of around five.

Other beta news? Sure thing, before the holidays! It’s a kindness.

And with that, we implore you to go finish up any shopping you need to do, but you can also take a look at the games in testing in the list below. If something slipped into a new test phase without us noticing, let us know down in the comments! That is helpful and kind.

As always, we consider an MMO to be in open testing if it features free, public signups and will server wipe prior to launch. An MMO is marked in closed testing if it’s running a private test phase that cannot freely be accessed by the general public; it’s usually under NDA as well. Early access and crowdfunded MMOs whose tests we deem legitimate will be included. So-called “open beta” soft-launch MMOs with cash shops, no sign of launch in the west, or limited interest for our readers will not be listed; we also do not list expansions, with occasional exceptions.

Yes, MMO gamers, you too can perform the unpaid quality-control work otherwise known as game testing! Check out Massively Overpowered’s Betawatch every week for a run-down of MMOs that are still on the road to launch, even if they appear to have set up a permanent residence in a shed called early access.

Well I have an XBOX One so I’ll be one of the five people ready for PSO2 when it goes live.

I wonder if the massive boobs accessory will come to the west.

I doubt it.

I’d kind of like it to, but I doubt it as well.
