The Daily Grind: What was the best MMO emulator or rogue server in 2019?

So 2019 turned out to be a pretty damn interesting year for fans of old MMORPGs. Not only did WoW Classic launch and bring World of Warcraft Vanilla emus to their knees, but City of Heroes was forced out of hiding and rogue servers are now everywhere. And we’re here for it.

On MOP, we have an informal policy not to lavish press on rogue servers for live and active MMORPGs because we’re not trying to get anybody shut down here and it’s kinda tacky to be flaunting stolen code and assets from devs are actively working on a live game. But on the other hand, we’re generally eager to cover community efforts to revive truly dead and abandoned MMOs, especially when the original studios have given their blessing (or at least not smacked everyone with C&Ds).

We’ve stopped short of making this a formal award, at least not yet, so consider this an informal one: What was the best MMO emulator or rogue server in 2019?

Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!
