MassivelyOP’s 2019 Golden Yachties: Best drama in an MMO that doesn’t exist yet

MassivelyOP’s not-so-serious end-of-the-year awards continue today with our pick for Best drama in an MMO that doesn’t exist yet. If you’re wondering what the heck a Golden Yachtie is, you can get caught up with the first award. And the winner is…

Chronicles of Elyria players secede from their king to create their own confederation

You guys, when MMORPG guilds are actually mailing press releases to the media, you know it’s serious business. It’s extra weird when the drama involves an MMO still super deep in development and not playable on the scale that should merit this type of drama. Nevertheless, this actually happened: A player king in the game, who spent $10,000 for the title and rank, went AWOL, leaving all of his pledged subjects – something like 250 people – to revolt and form a new kingdom worth something like $60,000. And I remind you, this game doesn’t exist yet.
