mom please never call me again

Now entering the ring, from Toronto, Ontario, weighing in at 235 pounds, it’s Bobby Roode! His opponent, from San Jose, California, weighing in at 119 pounds, it’s Bayley! Their mutual opponent, from Lynn, Massachusetts, weighing in every Sunday night on the CBS network, please give a warm welcome to Lesley Stahl! And what’s this? Now also entering the ring it’s a fourth opponent, weighing in between 10-18 pounds individually, from a variety of locations around the ring, it’s 51 feral cats!

And their shared opponent, weighing in at 220 pounds, from Asgard, it’s Thor, Lord of Thunder! He shoots sparks. Very impressive. And now finishing off, weighing in at seven tons, constructed cold at Nova Point, the former leader of the Wreckers, Impactor! Now the other people are leaving the ring! We’ll be right back to What Are You Playing after these messages and a perfunctory safety check to ensure that these harnesses won’t kill any performers.

Bonus question: How late do you stay up on New Year’s Eve normally? Andy McAdams: Nothing horribly exciting for me; more The Elder Scrolls Online, and I picked up Planet Zoo in the Steam sale, so probably bouncing back and forth between those.

I’m usually in bed passed out by 2 at the latest. Brianna Royce (@nbrianna, blog): Still sick, but home now. Probably back to my old haunts, though I’d like to just be in bed!

About the same as usual. I’ve lived in a bunch of timezones, so somehow the ball drop doesn’t really have much charm for me. Chris Neal (@wolfyseyes, blog): I’ve got an alt to level through Shadowbringers in Final Fantasy XIV, so that’s likely going to be my big primary project. Otherwise, it’s mostly attacking some of the new (and mostly single-player) games I picked up with the Christmas present my husband got me, though I’ll likely sprinkle in some more Star Citizen and Kingdom Under Fire 2 in there as well. Maybe some more Black Desert Mobile if things are slow at my other job.

I don’t really stay up later than I usually do (around 2 a.m. or so) on New Year’s Eve. This is one of those holidays that I’m very bah humbug about. It’s just another day for me, except I tend to sequester myself indoors even harder than normal because I don’t feel like dealing with droves of drunken idiots. I work for a casino call center, I experience that enough over the course of a year, let alone condensed into one loud, obnoxious night. Eliot Lefebvre (@Eliot_Lefebvre, blog): Aside from usual meanderings in FFXIV I also have a pile of new single-player stuff to, along with that cute little Genesis mini-console my wife got for me. It has Alisia Dragoon! I now own Fell Seal: Arbiter’s Mark! There’s lots of stuff to do here.

When I was in high school it was always really exciting to me to know that I could stay up until 1 a.m. or later on New Year’s Eve. It taught me a valuable lesson, that no matter when I knew I had to wake up, I could go to sleep really late if I was all right in waking up tired, feeling exhausted, having dark circles under my eyes, and generally having low energy from not getting enough sleep.

So now I just do that every night. Mia DeSanzo (@neschria): I have returned to Black Desert Online, so I will be playing that. And I will be popping into TESO for the first time in a long time. Then I will be driving home with a teenager wearing headphones in the front seat and a small child in the backseat complaining about how long it is taking.

I usually make it until midnight if I try, but then I go straight to bed after. I am old and not fun. Samon Kashani (@thesamkash): ArcheAge and Guild Wars 2 of course! These last levels are a serious drag in AAU.

What time does the party end? I’ll be up that late plus an hour. Tyler Edwards: Hype for the upcoming Picard series has caused a sudden an unexpected return to Star Trek Online, which I’ve only briefly dabbled with in the past. It’s a very flawed game, but it does scratch that Star Trek itch for now. I started over as a new Romulan, and I’m having a nice time flying around in my shiny new D’deridex warbird, the Tomalak.

Bonus question: I’ve never made a big deal about New Year’s. It’s just another day to me, and I go to bed at the usual time. So like 2 or 3 in the morning.

Every Saturday, join the Massively OP community and staff for What Are You Playing, our roundup of what MMORPGs and other games we’re hoping to play this weekend (with a bonus question or two for our amusement). Tell us what you’re up to! Go off-topic! And don’t forget to have fun!
