It’s Season 4 time in the battle royale shooter Apex Legends, which means it’s time to see the word “new” a lot. As in new character addition to the roster, new adjustments to the game’s map, and a new weapon among other new things. It’s new.

The new character is a fellow by the name of Revenant, who has an ability that halts enemy ability use for 10 seconds and an ultimate that drops a totem that brings teammates back to its location if they die. The new weapon is a pretty nasty Sentinel sniper rifle that can consume a shield battery to power its next shots to deal immense damage to player shields, though this energized state decays over time and expends a large amount of stored energy with every shot. Finally, the new map update sees a variety of significant landscape changes thanks to a Planet Harvester and a fissure that splits the area in two.

There’s also, of course, a new Battle Pass for this season, along with adjustments to ranked play including a Master tier and splits that reset ranked play every six weeks or so. There’s also an anniversary gift box waiting for those who log in between now and February 11th, which grants players an Origami Flyer gift charm, a Year 1 Loyalty Badge, and 10,000 XP for your first match every day during that time period.

More details can be found in the patch notes while more sizzle can be found in the gameplay trailer below.
