Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festival officially announced for San Diego, Nagoya, and London

Big hall.

The announcement of this year’s Final Fantasy XIV fan festival is probably not going to shock players; after all, where else would the next expansion be announced? But it’s still good to see that the dates have officially been announced, with the usual trio of festivals across all three regions for the game. The first event is in San Diego, California on November 6th and 7th, the second is in Nagoya, Japan on December 19th and 20th, and the third is in London, UK on February 20th and 21st. So more than a year on that one.

Of course, what will be particularly notable is that this is the first fan festival to move away from Las Vegas, with the event in the US taking place at the mammoth San Diego Convention Center. There’s no way that’s cheaper than the Rio where the past several events have been held, and it likely bodes as a sign of good health for the game and the expected attendance. So get ready for the next expansion trailer in about nine months; it’ll be blowing the roof off a much bigger hall.
