WRUP: Complete works of Ozymandias to look upon and despair edition

  • Now That’s What I Call Music (Ancient Societies Edition)
Please note that at the time he created it, it was not tagged as “Ancient Societies Edition” but rather as “Ozymandias Private Reserve.” The music in question was published in pamphlet form and was decided upon by Ozymandias himself. He did not write it.
  • Animorphs (Ancient Societies Edition)
Again, it is important to note that the subtitle was not there when Ozymandias wrote these, or at least some of them. Ozymandias wrote books 1-3, 5, 8, 13-17, and 22 himself; he co-wrote books 4, 7, 18-20, and 23. The other books were not his work.
  • Superman (Egypt)
Actually wholly unrelated to the later DC Comics character, this version of the character threw hippos at people.
  • The Transformers (Egypt)
Ozymandias personally designed and sold over 200 transforming toys. They were widely hated, as the transformations in question were, for example, “stone slab lying flat” to “stone slab standing upright.” He did design the first Decepticon symbol, though. (The Decepticons in this version were opposed by the heroic Hawkbots.)
  • What Are You Playing
Yeah, he’s been ghost-writing this for a while, most weeks. Wanted to give him a week off, you know?

Bonus question: What streaming services are you subscribed to right now?

Brianna Royce (@nbrianna, blog): There’s good meat up on Rori, which means I’ve got to get into Star Wars Galaxies Legends and get some. My husband did ask me whether I was killing all the nightspiders and eating their meat. “No,” I said indignantly. “I’m killing all the nightspiders and then feeding their meat to my wealthy, loyal customers in food.” It’s different. Video games!

I know we’ve got subs to Netflix and the Mouse House for the kids, and my husband still keeps Spotify. Gonna be honest, I don’t use any of them much, so if it were up to me, we wouldn’t have any of them. Oh, technically we have Twitch Prime by default, too.

Chris Neal (@wolfyseyes, blog): Pretty standardized answer from me: Lots of RP stuff in Final Fantasy XIV and continued running around in Black Desert Online. I’m also thinking of making a dip into Path of Exile, though that isn’t a given. Really, none of my WRUP plans are most of the time.

I’m only subscribed to Netflix, and even that’s more for my husband’s benefit than my own. I’m stubbornly refusing to subscribe to other streaming services as one of the last holdouts in silent protest of companies breaking up TV series and movies into pieces, even though the market is clearly doing that anyway. Also I just don’t watch much TV anymore.

Eliot Lefebvre (@Eliot_Lefebvre, blog): Some antics in FFXIV, I’ll be doing my best to remember to do Star Trek Online anniversary dailies, and otherwise… there’s some stuff in my queue to play for reviews and I really should actually pick up Fire Emblem: Awakening. I keep meaning to, but…

Right now, my wife and I actually have a pile of subscription services with Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, and Amazon Prime. I also really figure I should get in on the CBS thing for Star Trek and the Twilight Zone. I keep thinking about dropping some of them, but then I find out that something good is now on Prime or whatever and it just renews for another year.

Samon Kashani (@thesamkash): This week’s all about Guild Wars 2 and ArcheAge Unchained. I’ll be running through the story update more and getting one last feel for the combat before the big update that is coming soon.

I’m currently subscribed to Netflix and HBO. HBO might need to go though now that I’ve watched the shows I enjoyed there.

Tyler Edwards: I’m presently splitting my attention between Warcraft III: Reforged and Star Trek Online. Doing the Night Elf campaign in the former and anniversary stuff in the latter. It’s so nice to go back to a time when Night Elves were scary and fascinating in equal measure, instead of neglected and watered down in equal measure. Meanwhile STO’s anniversary mission is a surreal fever dream onslaught of fan service, and I am here for it.

Bonus question: Crave TV, which those of you outside of Canada probably haven’t heard of. It’s not great, but it’s the only way to watch Picard online here in Canuckistan, and there was not a chance of my missing that.

Pierre, patron: A few busy weeks at work and I haven’t advanced my The Last of Us playthrough as much as I’d like. I will try to speed up and do better this weekend.
I have also bought Kentucky Route Zero, now that the final chapter is out. As with any episodic game, I generally wait for the complete game to be out before playing. I read so many good things about this one, I’m eager to see for myself if it suits me. If I have some time left, I will also go through a few quests in The Elder Scrolls Online. Finally, with the Terminator event that started this week, I’m really tempted to play Ghost Recon Breakpoint, but you know, time… may be just a short session to chill off, as it’s a very arcade-y TPS/FPS.

For the bonus question: I’m subbed to Netflix and Amazon Prime Video for my share of fine TV Shows (most of them US or UK, I must admit French TV shows are generally terrible :/). As I don’t watch TV anymore, I replaced it by watching gaming streams on Twitch and I’m subbed to 5 Twitch channels I enjoy.

And you, what are you playing this weekend MOP readers ? Let us know in the comments. Cheers ! <3
