PSA: MMO developer comedy Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet debuts on Apple TV+

Earlier in January we told you about the upcoming premiere of Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet, a comedy from several production members from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and Modern Family and featuring It’s Always Sunny’s creator Rob McElhenney in the starring role. Just in case that story may have slipped your notice, consider this a little reminder that the first season is up for viewing right now.

Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet follows the development studio behind the largest MMORPG in the world, Mythic Quest, as they work to develop the game’s first expansion, Raven’s Banquet. McElhenney stars as studio head Ian Grimm, the sort of arrogant personality that many fans of MMO gaming (and gaming in general) might be able to draw parallels to real-life people. We suspect it won’t be too difficult.

One of the best parts is that, even though the show is specifically on Apple TV+ (which, let’s be honest, probably isn’t one of the hotter TV streaming platforms out there), it can still be watched on a web browser at one’s leisure, which was one of the more common refrains from commenters of our original report. I took a moment to try it out myself and it was a simple matter of signing up for the service’s 7-day free trial and hitting the play button. You’ll want to bear in mind, however, that you’re going to need to provide credit card details when registering for the trial; if you do decide to sign up to tune in, don’t forget to cancel the subscription afterwards if you’re not going to get much mileage out of the service.

McElhenney and Always Sunny are brilliant.

But Apple+ almost guarantees I won’t see this until it comes out on another streaming service. You know, one that humans use.

Apple TV is so cheap it’s worth it just to binge out their original shows for a month – then dump it.

Worth watching for sure. Not as funny as It’s Always Sunny, but I enjoyed it! Episode 5 is a tone shift and honestly the best one in the season.

Totally not a poke at the notorious egos of Mythic Entertainment.

I went to download Apple on my dumb-assed “smart” TV (a Bravia) and the app isn’t available yet -_-;;;

so I can’t watch it my good room but can in the bedroom. Smart TVs are the worst.
