Make My MMO: Fractured’s latest stress test brought it to 70K registered players

2

This week in MMO crowdfunding, Kickstarted MMORPG sandbox Fractured ended its second stress test with a bang this week, and unlike the first test, this one wasn’t bogged down with server issues. Dynamight Studios says the servers held up “flawlessly” even at peak concurrency, leading to 6.000 new accounts and a total of 70,000 registered users. That said, the devs are working on the incomplete land management system that meant land was occupied too quickly and many late-joining players had to walk for “hours” to find free space. The team is also working on combating chat griefers and hackers who popped up during the event. Next up for the game is another leg of the alpha, slated for the end of February or beginning of March, with parties, guilds, land management, and the initial Vale of Shadows.

Meanwhile, Albion Online hit 350 monthly active players and dropped a patch last week that tweaks Outland towns. Plus, we’re looking for folks who invested in Shroud of the Avatar’s SeedInvest campaign in 2017.

Of course, MassivelyOP itself celebrated its 5th birthday, proving that crowdfunding isn’t all bad! Read on for more on what’s been up with MMO crowdfunding over the last week, plus our roundup of all the crowdfunded MMOs we’re following!

Fractured

Yes, some crowdfunded MMOs most definitely do succeed. But others crash and burn, and you need to hear about the whole spectrum of games that sought your money early in exchange for the promise of input and transparency. And that’s exactly what Make My MMO does every Saturday. Help us keep ’em accountable, would ya?
