Final Fantasy XIV brings the Little Ladies’ Day around once again on March 2

If you come to San Francisco...

It’s time for another iteration of the Little Ladies’ Day in Eorzea starting on March 2nd, because this is the tradition of Final Fantasy XIV and even world-hopping antics and new patches can’t stop the need for flowers and festivals. The story? We have no idea yet; it’s just another reminder that this year the royal seneschal wants to make sure that no little girl goes without a smile on her face. You know, same as every year. Again, it’s a tradition.

Of course, what is different this year are new rewards, which include a new Eastern Stage, a wall-mounted Little Ladies’s Day banner, and the new Princess’s Peach Corsage and Seneschal’s Monocle (both of which appear to be gender-neutral, so you can mix and match as you wish). If you’re into housing decorations or the many ways to wear flowers in your hair, head on down to Ul’dah when the event starts.

Uh… usually it’s an event that revolves around a trio of idols who sing and do performances.

Yeah, but actually knowing anything about the game and it’s events would invalidate his incorrect preconceived notions of a game he doesn’t actually know anything about.

And we certainly can’t have that in a post.

Not every joke is a winner S – but you have to put them out there to see if they have wings.

FFXIV and Square Enix seem to be very conscientious about making sure events always have SOMETHING that you get for participating. I always liked that.
It doesn’t hurt that they have great player housing systems so their rewards can often be crap for your house.
Probably the only other game I know where the event rewards are so consistently account-benefiting would be LotRO.

But don’t they have a limited number of housing slots available? Would really suck to work your butt off in an event, only to get an item for a house you can never seem to acquire.

Full blown house plots are limited but Apartments and FC rooms are still options. I don’t think apartments have a limit, nor are they subject to the inactivity clause that houses are. FC rooms are dependent on remaining with a given FC.

Exactly this. IIRC the housing is in high demand (and it’s flippin expensive, which I guess is appropriate given the demand) but joining or forming an FC ultimately allows everyone an apartment. Come to think of it, from an American POV it’s a very Japanese paradigm that actual detached houses are rare and expensive, and normalizing tenement apartments.

The only problem with an FC apt is what happened to me, I had an FC blow up while I was away. All your crap in your apartment is packed up and available at the concierge (you lose nothing…unless like me you don’t realize that concierge won’t hold it forever and when you come back to the game you find that deadline has long passed and a year’s worth of stuff is gone forever).

You can buy an apartment without being in an FC and the beautiful thing about it is you never lose it, even if you unsub for a year.
